A bit about Robin...
I am part of a group clinical counsellors at Brave Sinergy. We believe in the importance of respecting and honouring people's stories, needs, perspectives and diverse backgrounds.
Within my practice my goal is to give my clients the opportunity to feel and be understood and to support them in an affirming, curious exploration of perspectives and possibilities.
I am a life-long learner with lots of lived experience. I'm passionate and interested in the way people think, how their environment, relationships, values and beliefs impact them and in supporting people come to clarity, reframing and making sense of things that baffle and perplex, stifle and impede, hurt and harm.
Dear Future Client,
At the time of writing this I'm in my mid-60's (yikes!). A late bloomer, I earned my masters degree in 2024. When I started going to school, I was worried I wouldn't be clever enough or scholastic enough compared to youth that surrounded me.
I quickly noticed that I had so much more lived experience than they did, which I realized is wisdom.
I think its is this wisdom and lived experience that allows me to connect with my clients on a deeper and more meaningful level. Without taking away from their experience, it helps to make the connection needed for a beneficial therapeutic relationship.
Reflecting on myself, my family and ancestors, I see examples of suicide, sexual abuse, bi-polar, addiction, depression, anxiety, stress, neurodivergence and trauma that have never really been told. We all have our stories. What's yours?
Sincerely,
Robin Ashforth

A bit about Finn...
Right now Finn is still a very high energy Whoodle (Wheaten terrier/poodle cross) puppy who is working hard on learning his manners. We are navigating puppy teens along with training. He is doing well when clients come to see us, but must remain quiet in another room.
We are both looking forward to being able to offer animal-assisted therapy when ready. Please reach out if you are interested in being put on a wait list for animal-assisted therapy.
